Frequently Asked Questions About the Commencement Ceremony
Regalia
Only FHU-approved regalia may be worn during the ceremony. This will be ordered by the FHU Bookstore based on the height and weight included in your application
Non-FHU regalia (e.g., sorority/fraternity pins, cords, etc.) may be worn for photos at the reception only and is not permitted during the ceremony.
Tickets
NO Tickets are required for the May 2026 graduation ceremony
What to Wear
Your appearance at graduation is very important— you’ve earned center stage!
Men: White dress shirt with a dark tie and dark dress pants. Black dress shoes are preferred, but not required.
Women: A simple, modest, lightweight dress or a blouse paired with dark dress slacks.
Graduates will walk a moderate distance during the processional, so wear sensible shoes—tripping can be painful and embarrassing.
May I Decorate the Top of My Cap?
To preserve the formality of the event, graduates may not decorate the tops of their graduation caps.
